Dr. Sarah Refai
As a certified project manager and a microbiologist with a strong background in biochemistry and applied biotechnology I am supporting the field of C1 bioconversion at CLIB since April 2018. With the help of broad knowledge in technology transfer and exploitation I am coordinating R&D projects. Furthermore, I am focused on giving funding advice, supporting research and development project applications and enhancing the formation of consortia and collaborations of partners and members of the cluster.
During my research at Bonn University, I worked on anaerobic microbiology (2011-2012). In my PhD I focused on the anaerobic microbial degradation chain of different types of biogas digestors (2012-2016). I was fascinated combining the research and experiments with application related aspects. In different scientific publications I documented the successful results in optimizing of biogas production processes. Furthermore, as a Postdoc I was able to gain experience in supervision, teaching and coordination of students (2015-2017).
