Prof. Dr. Thomas Brück
Thomas Brueck studied Chemistry (Major), Biochemistry (Major) and Management Science at Keele University, UK, where he graduated 1996 with a Dual BSc.. In 1997, he obtained his M.Phil. degree in Molecular Medicine from the same University. Thomas conducted his Ph.D studies in “Peroxidase enzyme reaction mechanisms” under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Patricia Harvey at Imperial College and the University of Greenwich (London, UK), where he graduated in 2002. Thereon Thomas post- doctoral academic career branched out to marine natural product biochemistry under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Russell G. Kerr at the Centre of Excellence for Biomedical and Marine Biotechnology at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, USA). At the same institute, Thomas Brück was appointed Assistant Professor for Marine Proteomics and Biocatalysis in 2004. In 2006, he returned to Germany, were he joined Süd-Chemie AG (now Clariant AG), where he held various research and high level managerial positions including the position Portfolio Manager IP and Technology. Since 2011, Thomas returned to academia working as a Professor in the field of biocatalysis and sustainability at the Technical University of Munich.
