Rainer Wessel lives in Mommenheim and Heidelberg and has more than 30 years of international experience in the pharmaceutical and life science sector. Since May 2019 he serves as Chief Innovation Officer at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ, Heidelberg), where he contributes his network as Founder and Managing Partner of technology consultancies itechpartners & MIM Deutschland, as Venture Partner at EMBL Ventures and as staff officer at the German Army, in the field of BioDefense.
